​“vāz” series explores botanical imagery and their funky vessels. A bouquet is
commonly gifted as a message or symbol of emotion. The vase that holds the
blossoms has an important job, and is awarded its own spotlight as the beautiful
house that remains when the living flowers move on. Vases, the accessory to the
bouquet, then become a part of the home, awaiting the next beautiful collection of
flowers.
Each original multi-block print was carefully designed, planned, and carved. Each
color comes from the carving on one single block. Multiple layers of ink were pressed,
and dried in between. It is a feat of handiwork and color theory, but a lot of fun!
