Below you will see my past and upcoming events. Pre-pandemic I held regular block printing workshop classes. While I do not have plans to teach in the near future, I hope to still participate in Art Shows and Art Fairs.
Art Show: Hotel Paradox | Santa Cruz
After a long pause, a break from art shows and workshops through the pandemic and medical priorities (Breast Cancer in July 2021), I will have a show hung at Hotel Paradox called "vāz". I will be the featured artist at Artist Reception on January 13, 2023, with live music and light appetizers. A new series of unique linocut pieces will be up for display, which show various tabletop vessels and the flowers they hold. I have been practicing more multi-color printmaking techniques, as floral pieces do more justice in color.
Come spend time to soak it all in, stay awhile and dine at Solaire.

Workshop: Block print a tote bag
All are welcome to join in this family-friendly workshop making sea animals. Embellish your own canvas tote bag! Take pre-carved rubber blocks in various shapes and learn to ink, stamp and finish your own design on an eco-frioendly bag. I will be s haring my signature shapes of flowers, leaves, water, sun, waves. Create a repeating pattern or arrange a scene of your own design. Anything goes!
Note that this is not a block printing workshop involving carving tools. It will take 2-3 days more to air dry, so you will need to transport you inked tote bag carefully home and then air dry them to touch.

Art Showing: sawyer supply
For the months of February and March my lino and block prints will be on display and for sale at Sawyer Supply. I will have recent pieces reflecting the beauty of winter skies and sea. I will host an activity table for the first hour where guests can practice their hand at block printing from my carved blocks!

Second Friday: Hotel Paradox
A whole new series called 'Wildflower' will be hung at Hotel Paradox. I will be the featured artist at Artist Reception on the second Friday of December 2019 with live music and light appetizers. With 40 pieces up for display you can spend time to soak it all in, stay awhile and dine at Solaire; it's the perfect way to appreciate each art piece, which will adorn all the walls from the lobby, halls, restaurant and bar! Come by and say hello! I'll be turning the big 4-0 also, which gives me a wonderful way to celebrate doing what I love with people who I enjoy seeing.

Decor Workshop: the gathered life
Celebrate Fall and try your hand at decorating for fall festivities. We will begin the gathering by block printing a set of (4) napkins made from blocks hand-carved by JOAN P BOGART, which will be yours to take home. Following the handmade craft, there will be a demonstration on how to style a place setting. Each of you will then have time to put your new skills to work while enjoying small bites and refreshments!

First Friday reception, homeless garden project store
A little over a year since my botanical linoprints premiered in downtown Santa Cruz at their prior location, I am going to be having new botanical relief ink prints on display. I am so grateful for Homeless Garden Project for finding me (on etsy!) and asking me to sell my art in their store. During the event I will have some of my blocks available to print onto 5x7 greeting cards for guests to print on their own for a donation to HGP.

Build upon your knowledge and practice of block printing by learning how to hand print in multiple colors. Learn the basics of reduction linoprinting and registration of your block, then make your own breathtaking limited edition of multi-colored prints! You are sure to enjoy this form of creative self care. This is an express workshop and you should already know the essentials of carving. Drawing skills not necessary - bring an image or you can use any of my print-outs.

Refurbish a favorite tee, revive a soft tank, embellish a plain handkerchief. In this eco-conscious workshop we will design a textile pattern using rubber blocks and stamp them in your own fashion. For the first time in Aptos I will be teaching an all-levels block printing workshop at the shop that makes my frames! The wonderful couple both make/design the woodwork that is sold at their shop in Aptos. They also sell a sweet selection of housewares, gifts, art. Attendees will be taking home their handmade block prints in a handsome two-toned reclaimed wood frame (size 5x7)

Santa Cruz Summer Vibes! Everyone knows of NextSpace as the leader in a collaborative and co-working environment for all. Their artist rotation is on a quarterly basis and this summer I will be moving my art in! I'll be displaying my recent geometric block prints that mix elements of water, surf, sun, sand and kelp. I'll have a table selling my prints and other merchandise (maybe even some shirts!). Framed pieces are for sale and can go home with buyers at the end of the exhibit.

Workshop: foam collagraph printmaking
Come join this family friendly printmaking activity using foam to play with textures and shapes from which to make art prints. I will have a booth selling my lino and relief prints at the inaugural Art Expo in Santa Cruz, featuring artwork from over 50 individual artists and galleries throughout the greater Bay Area and Northern California Regions. This event is expected to bring in a large attendance, making Art as a Destination a thing!
This outdoor weekend event at the Old Wrigley Building lot in Santa Cruz, will also include food vendors and guest wineries, though introducing audiences to new art and artists to new audiences is the main focus! This event is brought to you by Event Santa Cruz, The Art Cave, and Idea Fab

Workshop: Sea Animals Collagraph Printing
All are welcome to join in this family-friendly workshop making sea animals. In this 2 hour workshop learn how to design and print your own sea animals using a foam collagraph printmaking method. Learn about and admire the different shapes and textures animals have from our image reference. Cut and collage foam shapes and draw it in your collagraph. Or, make any design entirely on your own! Then ink and pull up to 3 prints from your collagraph to take home (8x10" paper). With remaining time the instructor, artist Joan Bogart, will have her carved sea animal blocks for you to print and take home, one paper per person. First Friday reception, Stripe Men
